A’Mare. The poetics of Edra outdoor furniture.

The furniture series is on display in the Sala del Baccanale, and is placed on a reflective surface, amplifying the sparkle, purity and fluidity of the shapes. “A’Mare”, like a play on words and a nod to the Neapolitan jargon of love, the furnishings contain the love and values of a design that is uninfluenced by fashion and attentive to artisanal savoir-faire. Jacopo Foggini, creator of the collection, recalls that everything originated from a polycarbonate drop placed on his desk which was gripped by Valerio Mazzei (the president of Edra), and from that moment no longer seemed to be a solid matter but a drop of crystallized water.

A’Mare is the result of a design experiment aimed at exalting the purity of the material, polycarbonate juxtaposed with glass, creating objects that play on fluidity and transparency, naturally integrating into the environment that welcomes them. The furnishings are camouflaged in the space, blurring and sometimes canceling the boundary between the object and the external environment, if immersed in water they disappear, if touched by the sunlight they create plays of light and infinite shades. This is the poetics of A’Mare. Jacopo Foggini, in continuous collaboration and experimentation with the company, designs using rods which are hand-made one by one, and although apparently rigid, are objects that live and interact with external environments. These rods are arranged in series, creating an elastic texture, each piece stands out from the next, perceptible only to the touch or thanks to the glare of light.

Edra once again manages to surprise us and does so in the interior of the Milanese residence, where timeless places are discovered and mixed with new ways of contemporary living.
