B&B Italia 2025: a dialogue between heritage, innovation, and sustainability

At Salone del Mobile 2025, B&B Italia celebrates its heritage while embracing the future. A gesture of continuity and innovation, in which some of the brand's most iconic projects are reimagined with new details, materials, and functionalities—without ever losing their original essence. The result is a cohesive narrative that brings together aesthetics, sustainability, and evolving ways of living.

Designed by Antonio Citterio, Charles has long been a symbol of elegance and lightness. In its updated version, the design remains unchanged, but the system gains new compositional flexibility. Alongside the classic layout with chaise longue, backrest, and armrest, new elements have been introduced to go beyond linearity—creating islands, semi-islands, and configurations that respond to open and multifunctional spaces.

To complement the system, a low table and wooden console add hybrid, versatile functions that reinforce the dialogue between form and function with impeccable balance.

Charles Large Carré B&B Italia

As part of its ongoing renewal of design icons, B&B Italia introduces Charles Large Carré, an elegant reinterpretation of the iconic sofa by Antonio Citterio. This version is distinguished by a refined carré motif that enhances the seat cushion upholstery, showcasing the brand’s signature attention to detail and craftsmanship.

The plaid effect is the result of a meticulous process: each square of the upper cushion cover is cut and numbered individually for precise identification. During assembly, the squares are rejoined using textile webbing for fabric versions, or a leather trim for leather upholstery. The stitching begins with the short sides, followed by the long sides, creating a harmonious and sophisticated visual rhythm.

This intricate craftsmanship not only lends the Charles Large Carré a unique aesthetic, but also reflects B&B Italia’s commitment to blending innovative design with traditional techniques—offering a product that exemplifies excellence in contemporary furniture.

B&B Italia Tufty-time 20

Twenty years after its debut, the Tufty-Time seating system by Patricia Urquiola is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, retaining the key features that made the original a classic: modularity, enveloping comfort, and compositional freedom. The new version, Tufty-Time 20, introduces a curved module that enables more fluid and convivial layouts, ideal for both residential and contract spaces.

The most significant change, however, lies within its structure. Tufty-Time 20 is now completely disassemblable—designed to be taken apart without tools. Every component, including hinges and joints, is single-material and fully recyclable. This evolution underscores B&B Italia’s growing commitment to circular design, first explored with Le Bambole by Bellini and now pursued with even greater intent and responsibility.

In seamless continuity with the seating system, the new Tufty-Time 20 low tables are available in a variety of sizes, including a version designed to fit perfectly between the modular sofa elements. Crafted entirely from oak or with oak frames paired with bright anodized aluminum tops, these tables blend aesthetics with practicality, offering versatile solutions for a wide range of interior settings.

Designed in 1979 by Antonio Citterio and Paolo Nava, the Diesis collection continues to embody the architectural essence of B&B Italia. In response to contemporary living needs, the collection now introduces an armless armchair defined by its tectonic, orthogonal structure and minimalist purity.

With tactile materials, sculptural forms, and timeless construction, Diesis remains a modern design archetype—evolving gracefully while staying true to its original identity.
