The collaboration between the two designers and Cassina gave rise to an armchair with copious and enveloping curves, using the padding technique with polyurethane foam, a new method that was intended to revolutionize the manufacture of sofas and armchairs. The padding made it possible to create a soft piece of furniture, to cover it and fix it through a large metal frame to form soft folds around the whole person.
La coppia di progettisti e Cassina erano riusciti a dar vita a una poltrona dalle curve abbondanti e avvolgenti, approfittando della tecnica di imbottitura con il poliuretano espanso, una novità dell’epoca destinata a rivoluzionare la manifattura di divani e poltrone. L’imbottitura permetteva di realizzare un arredo soffice, di rivestirlo e fissarlo attraverso una grande morsa metallica in modo da formare morbide pieghe intorno a tutta la persona.
