Per/Use and its furniture is made with love and craftsmanship

"Simple and at the same time intelligent, essential but timeless, sober but rich, beautiful but also practical." These are the declared keywords of Per/Use, which stands for Craft and Soul. It is a Belgian brand that loves to create functional accessories to furnish any environment, indoor and outdoor, with elegance.

With work by both established and emerging designers, it combines the highest quality of materials - especially wood, metal and glass - with excellent craftsmanship, paying close attention to sustainable consumption and respect for the environment.

The only difference is that it cannot be played. But the reference to the musical instrument and its keys is anything but implicit. And if the image does not come immediately, the name will resolve all doubts: Piano, designed in 2010 by Patrick Séha for Per / Use during his design studies.

PERUSEPiano

It is a multipurpose wall mounted coat rack available in two sizes - small and large -, with folding hooks arranged at four heights, to be opened at will or closed if you are looking for an elegant and space-saving solution. Produced entirely in Europe in the highest quality wood, it is finished in solid oak, walnut or beech for interiors, or in teak for exteriors. With a classic and functional design, Piano can dress every room in the house, from the entrance to the living room, or even take its place poolside.

Xylo comes to life from Piano and the pencil of Patrick Séha. The name, of course, is no accident and this time it refers to the xylophone. The structure, finishes, details and intended uses are similar to those of the first collection, which it also resembles in both elegance and functionality.

The signature of the Leaf coffee table, on the other hand, belongs to Mathias De Ferm. Available in two versions - one with a non-revolving top and one with three revolving tops - both take inspiration from the plant world: the leaf-shaped tops rotate around a refined brass base. The herringbone pattern, created with solid oak and walnut finishes, further enhances a timeless aesthetic linked to nature.

Again, solid wood - especially natural oiled oak or natural oiled walnut - and metal are combined. Frederik Delbart creates Vertebrae, a collection of different sized shelves, to be combined to create the most original designs on the wall.

Per/Use - Guillotine

Cleanliness and essentiality. These are the watchwords with which Guillotine was conceived. Jeffrey Huyghe designed it, in fact, to leave the entrance or corridor in perfect order, to shine. The mirror rests on, or rather, cuts - hence the reference to the “guillotine” - a shelf in walnut or oak with a drawer that acts as a tray and opens with a button. Together, in both the round and rectangular versions, the mirror and shelf create a unique design: seen from the front they give the illusion of being one.

As with all creations by Per/Use and its designers, the way they are called is eloquent in itself. Prelude by Belgian architect Caroline Voet, for example, gives its name to a collection of benches designed for the DeSingel art centre in Antwerp. As the "prelude" refers to the piece of music that precedes the main work, the Voet benches were designed as a waiting, rest or conversation point for the artists behind the scenes at DeSingel. The base is in matt black or bronze metal, while the seat follows fluid and ergonomic lines, and is finished in natural oiled oak, black oak or natural walnut, plus teak for the exterior. The robust materials, aesthetics and comfort have made Prelude a piece of furniture in its own right, independent of the original context in which it was conceived and suitable for any environment, both domestic and public.

Finally, Levels is a set of three round tables that develop with different diameters and at different heights, or "levels". The design is by Lucie Koldova & Dan Yeffet, who have provided the same base in natural varnished solid oak, with two possible inlays: white glass and black glass. A third version is an exception with a black stained oak structure and marble top.
