Flos, Palazzo Visconti, Milan Design Week 2024. In the same iconic location where Achille Castiglioni's Taraxacum was unveiled 36 years ago, Flos presents its latest lighting collection. This event symbolizes what Flos has always embodied: a visionary world where genius finds fertile ground for creating remarkable projects.

In the Baroque setting where Achille Castiglioni showcased his groundbreaking creation in 1988, new projects by Michael Anastassiades, Barber Osgerby, and Formafantasma take center stage in an immersive architectural installation. The baroque splendor of the rooms interacts with the new lamps, creating a dialogue that emphasizes the transparency of glass and the innovation and meticulous attention to detail that define the new collections.

To celebrate the first decade of Michael Anastassiades' IC Collection, the IC lamp is reimagined in a special numbered edition, crafted in 24-karat gold and available in three larger versions.

Alongside this exclusive reissue is a new version of the iconic collection designed by London-based duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Flos. The Bellhop Glass is a novel interpretation of the table lamp originally designed in 2016, now reimagined in blown glass. This transformation results in more complex variations of light, thanks to the meticulous design study behind it.

The innovative concept of the Bellhop Glass is showcased in both table and pendant versions, captivating viewers with light that seems to magically spread out from a simple, almost invisible bulb through the transparent glass. The familiar form of the Bellhop evolves into a design that is aesthetically and technologically renewed, yet revolutionary in its core idea.

The third project on display at Palazzo Visconti is SuperWire by Formafantasma. This lighting system includes a table lamp, floor lamp, wall sconce, and suspension lamp, featuring modular hexagonal components with a replaceable LED filament light source. This feature is the key innovation presented by Formafantasma: a system designed for a longer life cycle, thanks to its easily repairable components.

The hexagonal modules consist of extra-clear flat glass panels framed in aluminum, with twelve thin LED strips encased in an ultra-thin borosilicate tube. This design is as sophisticated and exclusive as it is pragmatic and sustainable, capable of emitting warm, homogeneous light potentially indefinitely.
