In 1954, Ponti invented the Compasso d'Oro award. The theory of the "finite form" is the central element of his work, and involves all design levels. Two years later, he conceived his most acknowledged masterpiece: the Pirelli Tower in Milan. Alongside his majestic architectural pieces, he boasts a broad production in the furniture field, such as the renowned collaboration with Molteni&C.
