Fritz Hansen celebrates 150 years of extraordinary Scandinavian design.

The history of Fritz Hansen starts in Copenhagen, in 1872. In the early XXth century, Fritz’s son, Christian, experiments the new technique of steam bending wood, that will soon become the brand’s peculiarity.

Thanks to his visionary designers, the revolutionary Scandinavian style has pure and soft lines inspired by the German functionalism.

In occasion of the 150th anniversary, the brand’s philosophy resides in a contemporary tone, with innovative materials and functional designs.

The multi-use chair by Nendo is created from waste materials. The chair’s back is inspired by a folded piece of paper on the Japanese designer’s studio table: a light origami concept that becomes a modern and versatile chair. The seven colours are inspired by the Scandinavian nature, combined with multiple base options. An ideal chair for work, meeting rooms or dining spaces.
