From reissued masterpieces to sculptural lighting and bold innovations, the Gubi Summer 2025 collection explores themes of evolution, memory, and vision.
Each piece tells its own story: the refined geometry of Carlo De Carli's Tavolo a Dischi, the organic precision of the new Bistra rattan series, and the evolution of Komplot Design’s GUBI 3D chair—now reimagined for a world increasingly attuned to materiality and sustainability.
The Tria Armchair stands out as one of Carlo De Carli’s final masterpieces—an emblem of Milanese design conceived in collaboration with Vittorio Bonacina.
Crafted from natural rattan, this lounge chair is defined by its curved armrests: three rattan canes converge into one elegant form, creating a rhythmic interplay of curves and proportions that evokes both lightness and strength.
Every detail is carefully considered. Each cane is selected to ensure consistency in color and diameter, hand-bent with expert craftsmanship, and finished with a semi-gloss chestnut lacquer.
Removable foam cushions add comfort, making the armchair a versatile fit for a wide range of interiors.
Another design by De Carli, the Tavolo a Dischi, returns in all its sculptural presence.
Originally conceived in 1963 for Sormani, the table features concentric disks layered around a central core—an architectural tribute to the eternal balance between form and function.
A single glance reveals its architectural essence. Made from stacked wooden discs of varying diameters, the Disks Table—Tavolo a Dischi—was De Carli’s personal response to Eero Saarinen’s beloved Tulip Table. Inspired by a dinner conversation with pioneering furniture maker Luigi Sormani, De Carli envisioned a design with a similar silhouette, reinterpreted through a distinctly wooden, modular rhythm.
A new special edition of GUBI’s Tynell 9602 floor lamp, also known as the Chinese Hat, is born from the encounter between Paavo Tynell’s design and Henry Moore’s figurative art.
Created for Garro Éditions, this edition features a natural linen shade printed with Moore’s Haringey Circus Horses drawing (1956). The horses animate the fabric, playing with light and shadow in a dynamic interplay.
A polished brass base and rattan-wrapped stem complete the lamp’s silhouette, achieving a perfect balance between art and function.
It is a tribute to poetic detail and craftsmanship—an object that feels both iconic and intimate.
