Summer is a state of mind: the doors open wide, light floods the spaces and the approach to everyday life becomes slower, marked by moments of conviviality and lightheartedness. With resplendent simplicity, the lightweight, fresh furniture of Gubi's new outdoor collection defines the spaces where you can enjoy the warmth of summer months freely and joyfully.
Outdoor areas come to life shaping versatile atmospheres in harmony with the changing sunlight and shade, inspiring you to fully relish the pleasure of open air living.
The new SS23 Under the Sun collection emphasises the aesthetic and functional values that Gubi already expressed with the designs featured in Alfresco, the brand's debut outdoor collection from the previous year. New colours, outdoor versions of iconic pieces, and portable outdoor lamps define enchanting spaces, perfect for summer moments.
New soft yet durable textured upholstery fabrics deliver pleasant tactile experiences. The colour options range from bold, vibrant tones, consistent with the lively mood of the season, to natural, refined nuances that perfectly suit any décor. The new versions of Gubi's lamps, from contemporary to mid-century modern models, allow you to fully relish the mesmerizing beauty of starry summer nights, creating unexpected and fascinating illuminated corners.
The Tropique dining chair, designed by Mathieu Matégot in the 1950s and recently revived by Gubi, gains new colours and high-performance fabrics this year. The chair's essential design is embellished with wide striped fabrics, fringes and tassels that further enhance the French Riviera style.
The Carmel collection of coffee tables designed by OEO is inspired by the bohemian, unpretentious soul of Carmel-by-the-Sea, a tourist destination located on the Pacific coast of the United States. Sturdy yet lightweight, and available in three different sizes, they feature organically shaped table tops and bold colours: the rich texture, gloss and natural unevenness of the ceramic material add a refined, unconventional, distinctive touch to the room.
MR01 Initial Lounge Chair and open air spaces were made for each other: the new outdoor version is screwless and held together by special joints, an original and ingenious feature developed by its designer Mathias Steen Rasmussen. This comfortable lounge chair is the ideal solution for moments of tranquillity or meditation, and is light enough to be easily moved to the desired spot. Iroko wood and polyester rope are strong and durable materials that give the seat an original charm.
The elegant Seine lamp now comes in a portable version: the lamp designed by Space Copenhagen, with its typical glasswork evoking the reflection of light on water, is transformed into a modern lantern that breathes life into dreamy, suggestive open air atmospheres.
Seventy years after its creation, Satellite's original design remains relevant today: the perforated sheet lamp, Matégot's signature piece also known as "Rigitulle", has an oval-shaped lampshade that casts a stunning diffused light, characterised by a special interplay of light and shadow.
Used individually or arranged in a group for a dramatic effect, the Satellite outdoor pendant lamp is the perfect choice to illuminate your covered patio. The Satellite floor lamp, on the other hand, is much more versatile: available in two heights, it can be easily adapted to any outdoor space and the lower version also suits indoor living areas.
