Presented in more than 30 countries and founded in 2012 by the two design enthusiasts Louise Breguet and Jean-Baptiste Souletie, La Chance, based in Paris, has managed to fascinate architects and interior designers all over the world.
Furniture, lighting and rugs with a distinct personality are reinterpreted in contemporary style, taking inspiration from the French tradition of the Art Deco period. New additions to the brand include the new wooden version of the Lamina dinner table and the sculptural Marmini lounge chair, visible from designer Hannes Peer's atelier.
The collection is brought to life by new generation European artists, creating elegant and sometimes extravagant pieces. From Italy, producing chairs and upholstery, to France for the creation of lamps, to Eastern Europe, specializing in woodworking, with only the rugs made outside Europe: in Nepal for the knotted rugs while in India for the tufted ones.
Born from the intersection of several marble slabs, the Lamina dining table, imagined by designer Hannes Peer, celebrates geometry and materiality, becoming an incredible sculptural and distinctive piece of furniture to admire. Symmetry and compositional balance are the protagonists of this piece, together with Claude Parent's "oblique function", from which it draws inspiration. The lines appear to lighten the weight of the material, bringing a new stylistic tone. Available in four marble finishes and in a wood version, Lamina brings elegance and character to any room.
Inspired by the silhouette of Saturn, the upholstered chair Planet, available in both the classic and bar version, combines design and comfort. Designed by Jean-Baptiste Souletie, it brings together appealing aesthetics, with a wide range of fabrics to choose from, and everyday functionality, with its light structure only weighing 6 kg. The rounded shapes of the seat and back cushions contrast with the clear-cut shapes of the mat black metal structure, hand-welded by experienced Italian craftsmen. The wooden back and its shape further enhance the color contrast.
Colorful and with graphic lines, the Cross wool rug, designed by French artist Anatole Royer, is composed of several square units which, when multiplied, will go to determine its size and shape. Woolen stripes, inspired by the sailor's knots, cross perfectly, combining bold and decisive nuances. Available in all shapes and sizes, each piece is custom-made to fit in any space, from very long hallways to open spaces.
There is a bit of architecture and a bit of mathematics in the Penrose dinner table by La Chance, created by young designer Hayo Gebauer. Indeed, it was inspired by the geometric research of mathematician Roger Penrose on the famous "impossible triangle." Both simple and complicated in its lines, Penrose seems to constantly mutate by simply changing the perspective from which it is observed: the solid wooden legs overlap or merge to create an interesting visual effect. The neon pink transparent glass top also enhances the perception of 3, 4 or 5 legs.
Available in different color combinations, it is transformed into a brutalist style work of art.
Composed of triangles made of Verde Alpi, Bianco Carrara and Fior di Pesco marble, the Marmini lounge chair truly leaves you breathless. It may be for its shape, light and squared, or for the comfortable seating, thanks to an oversized cushion with textured fabrics that embraces the entire structure. Artist Hannes Peer seeks the perfect union of furniture and sculpture, also inspired by the works of designer Scott Burton. The result is a piece of furniture with dynamic shapes and bright contrasts, but always careful to provide the right functionality and a wonderful feeling of well-being.
