Maxalto’s new collection, designed by art director Antonio Citterio, has been revealed in Paris during Maison&Objet 2023. A collection that is not inherently a collection because it features pieces that fit seamlessly into the entire catalogue creating a harmonious dialogue and reinforcing the ever-evolving stylistic character of the brand. Furnishings with a strong “classic contemporary” style enhance and complete domestic settings, reflecting a culture of living permeated by essential elegance, cosiness and substance, where conceptuality is the key to an aesthetic effect that is always up to date.
Continuing its thirty-year history, Maxalto presented the new collection in its sophisticated Parisian show-room at 35 Rue du Bac: a never flaunted, timeless elegance with a classic contemporary taste. Culture, creativity and craftsmanship create new shapes and sizes, colours and innovative materials, functional and aesthetic solutions that reflect the value of Made in Italy tradition: a synthesis of authenticity, quality and elegance that is always up to date, capable of evolving and looking to the future while preserving its conceptual and aesthetic ideals.
Reinventing the philosophy of the company, Arbiter, a modular system included in the brand’s range of sofas, is unquestionably the highlight of the “non-collection” collection. Its minimal and rigorous lines contrast with the size of the upholstered surfaces: the extra-large dimensions and maxi cushions make it a core element of large and airy spaces.
With its versatile nature, Arbiter can be arranged into various seating configurations choosing between two different seat depths, also with chaise-longue. The clever arrangement of the pillows, with the small one placed behind the large one, provides additional comfort and cosiness. Arbiter’s finishes stand out for their precious and textured fabrics.
Lilum features a sinuous design with an aluminium border that elegantly defines its shape, clearly referencing 50’s design. A cosy sofa intended for bonding moments, that also fits perfeclty well into more formal settings.
Essential yet sophisticated, the Sileo bed comes in a variety of fabric or leather finishes. It features slightly curved shapes and a high headboard that serves as a backrest.
The Paratus folding screen is an interesting decorative accessory for the living room or the bedroom that separates a large room into distinct areas changing the interior features of the space. Its precious handmade fabric, part raffia and part banana leaf, is fixed on a support that makes it even more stable, providing sound-absorbing properties to its three, four or eight panels.
The 2023 version of the Amoenus Soft swivel sofa, whose line and comfort have been reworked in 2020, features more discreet shapes that perfectly integrate with today’s international trends.
Elegance is the common denominator of the new range of fabrics: decorations, original finishes and textured materials like velvet, jacquard and bouclé. A palette characterised by the brand’s distinctive neutral and warm colours, with the addition of new shades, namely beige, ecru, camel, tobacco and black. Maxalto’s latest arrivals also include merino or virgin wool plaid blankets, bed runners and incredibly soft decorative pillows.
