Mohd Milano introduces Pierre Augustin Rose

Pierre Augustin Rose started in 2018 with its most iconic piece that immediately launched a true trend. The Sofa 190 recalls round shapes. Upholstered with mohair velvet by Pierre Frey, soft and elegant, it immediately charmed the world of design.

The founders of the young brand are part of a heterogeneous trio passionate about art and design. Pierre Bénard and Augustin Deleuze were both antique dealers in the Paul-Bert flea market in Paris and were specialised in empire furniture and Greek and Roman antiquities.

Nina Rose, instead, thanks to her perfect knowledge of the most important master craftsmen, has been the key to the exploration of ideas and the creation of a full furniture line.

They launched the company with the ambition of becoming ambassadors of French refinement on an international scale. The talent of these designers is hidden behind their enlightened antique dealer eyes, through which the past is evoked by means of the contemporary pieces they create.

The minimalist and timeless aesthetic recalls the empire style of brutalist designers of the first half of the 20th century. The intention is to produce objects suitable for historical or contemporary contexts, impossible to find in the antique market. The brand also collaborates with luxury houses like Cartier, Fendi, Yves Saint Laurent and Burberry.

With a deliberate antique-contemporary taste, the Solium chair features a design comprising of three seats together. The precious mahogany wood blends with the braided leather, recreating the essential lines that draw inspiration from the rigour of the Bauhaus.

The sculptural suspension lamp Eole is characterised by a sinuous lampshade in rough plaster which takes his name from Aeolus, the divine keeper of the winds in Greek mythology. The shade that hosts the light source presents softly nuanced curves. The main material is plaster, with a rough finish that expresses the artisan quality of the piece.

Made of an imposing oak top supported by a lacquered column-shaped base, the Forum dining table combines natural shapes with the elegance of craftsmanship.

The oak-wood Duo coffee tables, characterised by elegant and essential shapes, interact with each other like mobile sculptures.

The Cadillac armchair is an introduction to design that enhances the combination of aesthetics, fantasy and rigour. Originally created in the 1950s by Maison Erton, it was reissued in 2021 by Pierre Augustin Rose.

The series of sofas, including the 280, are characterised by the light, long curved lines in a tribute to Scandinavian design, recalling the style of the innovative works by the decorators in the 1930s and 1960s. Available in different sizes, to be used as independent pieces or combined, they are a playful and engaging invitation to modern sociability.
