Amini, rugs to admire
Rug weaving is an art, as well as an expression of local culture. From the craftsmanship with which they are made, to the perfection of the materials used, rugs have become increasingly versatile and precious furnishing accessories, to be admired and used. As narratives, the pieces of the Amini collections display creativity and elegance. Hand-knotted in delicate shades and rich in suggestive geometric effects, they perfectly match any style.
Presented at the 2022 Maison & Objet, the rugs from the Amini Collective collection designed by Carlotta Fortuna reinterpret classic Afghan lines, introducing elements of contemporary design and preserving the excellence of traditional weaving techniques. The geometric designs are well suited to any style becoming an essential and eccentric furnishing accessory. Unique and handcrafted, the rugs are hand-knotted in wool and available in three colours and sizes.
With sculptural and organic lines, the mini series of Jean rugs, made by the Juma studio, is inspired by nature and its forms. Raw jute and wool woven with the ancient Soumak technique combine together in a symbiotic way, becoming the canvas on which to make the images dance. There is a visual balance, perfectly presented in a modern key. Produced in India, Jean rugs can all be customised in size.
Born from the incredible interweaving of Indian wools, the Jackie rug, entirely handmade, stands out for its simplicity, thanks to a delicate colour palette and a light fringing that runs along the entire perimeter, characterising its features and giving it movement.
Available in two sizes, it can be customised in size to suit every need and space.
As if displaced by slight shifts, the staggered shapes that make up the Campiture rug, designed by the architect Elisa Ossino, emphasize the theme of movement, making the piece of furniture a true protagonist of the room. The Amini collection is embellished with a new element with a great visual impact characterised by marked lines and areas of colour, like ordered geometric patterns capable of combining beauty and elegance in an interesting balance. Available in 6 shades and made entirely of New Zealand wool, Campiture instills order and is inspired by the designer's continuous search to create almost pictorial objects with patterns capable of expressing emotional states.
The Giardino rug, designed by Carlotta Fortuna, brings to mind the incredible expanses of wild flowers and herbs found in nature. The light and colourful texture seems to be shaped in a casual way on the hand-knotted canvas. Stems, leaves and flower petals give life to a delicate rug, which in the dark version becomes more intense and captivating. Available in one size, it can be customised in a round or rectangular shape.
