In design, some objects don’t follow trends—they anticipate them.
Pierre Paulin’s F300 Lounge Chair is one of them. When it first appeared in the late 1960s, it looked as though it had arrived from another dimension: fluid, compact, and irresistibly modern. Now, thanks to GUBI and the support of the designer’s son, Benjamin Paulin, this icon is back in production—retaining all of its expressive power while embracing contemporary materials and sensibilities.
The F300 is no ordinary armchair—it redefines the way we sit.
Rather than prescribing a posture, it accommodates a multitude of them: upright or reclined, composed or relaxed, legs gathered or extended to the side. Every position reveals a new perspective. With no straight lines or flat surfaces—only continuous curves—it transforms a simple gesture into a sensorial experience.
Originally conceived as a functional sculpture in fiberglass or polyurethane, the F300 is now crafted from HiREK®—an advanced, eco-conscious polymer derived from recycled industrial plastic. Durable, lightweight, and naturally glossy, this material requires no additional finishing, minimizing waste and environmental impact. Technology serves the form: custom-developed molds faithfully reproduce Paulin’s original gesture.
Among the great 20th-century design classics, the F300 stands out for its dual nature: radical yet inviting, experimental yet practical.
It’s more than a armchair—it’s a resting place that can be enjoyed indoors or out, by a window or under a tree.
Designed to seamlessly integrate into various settings, the F300 by GUBI pairs effortlessly with the TS Table and Bohemian ’72 pouf in the living room;with the Basket sofa and Timberline floor lamp in more relaxed arrangements;or with the Epic coffee table and ANA pendant lamp in a reading nook, forming an intimate, harmonious space.
With the F300 Lounge Chair, GUBI doesn’t just bring back an icon—it reintroduces a vision: one where design is art, function, gesture, and material.
And it leaves us with a quiet but profound question:
